Making a Claim (Church Scheme)

You can contact us to make a claim on your Church Scheme policy in a number of ways:

This is the number if you want to report a new claim (or find out what is happening on an existing claim) during office hours. You will speak with one of our dedicated team at the Church of Scotland Insurance Services Ltd.

Claims Service Out of Hours (inc office closure over Christmas):

Major losses and those requiring urgent assistance can be directly reported to Aviva on the number below.  Please state clearly that you are calling in connection with a Church of Scotland Insurance Scheme claim, since this should ensure that you speak to the right person and if required quote the master policy number for the scheme 100719844BDN.

For major Fire, Lightning, or Explosion, damage to your church, church hall and other church buildings insured under Section I of your policy, please call 0345 030 7761 and select option 1. This will put you in contact with Aviva's out of hours team where you will have the option if necessary to appoint Sedgwick, our loss adjuster partner, on a non-liability established basis. 

This service operates 24 hours, 365 days a year.  Please have your church scheme reference available (it is in the style of “M0001”).  You will find it in the top right hand corner of your policy schedule.

Please send us an e-mail to  with details of your claim. There is a claim form on our website at this link which you can download, save, complete, and send to us with your e-mail. Once we have received your notification we will be in touch with you quickly to let you know what the next steps are. 

Note however that where the office is closed and during the Christmas break you will receive no response until staff return to the office.
