Schemes

The Church of Scotland Insurance Company Ltd (COSIC) operates two principal schemes.

The first of these is the Church Scheme which was introduced in its current form in 1973 and offers cover for the buildings, contents, and liabilities of Congregations large and small throughout Scotland and elsewhere.

Congregations are encouraged to support the Scheme since economies of scale enable affordable premiums to be delivered and ensure that all Congregations whatever their circumstances can obtain the insurance cover they need. Moreover all profits generated by the Scheme are returned to the Church through Gift Aid.

COSIC also operates a Home Insurance Scheme. The scheme has been specifically tailored to your needs and has a number of automatic extensions.

What is more for every policy taken out, your local Congregation will receive a £20 donation. Plus as with the Church Scheme any profits generated by the company will be returned to the Church through Gift Aid.
